I was able to play around with After Effects this year with my professors guiding me through. I've never touched After Effects prior to this project so everything was new and I did encounter quite a big learning curve, despite this, I can say that I do enjoy using this program and it's amazing seeing my ideas come to life.

For this project, I was only required to create two motion ads that would relate to another project that I was working on at the time. I decided I would make one for my group project's website and one for my own professional Instagram page.
MOTION AD 1
On the left is my original sketch/storyboard of how I wanted the first motion ad to go. I took inspiration from the classic DVD screensaver and turned it into something that people of my generation joke about. Pairing it with 'elevator music' really brought out the humorous tone as well.
I had to make sure that my colours would match the ones my group is using and I replaced the 'DVD' with 'FV.' Our project is titled Font Vault so I took the initials and worked with it, I also made sure that every time it hit an edge, it would change the typeface. Font Vault is a website created by my team to showcase our peers' handmade fonts so I thought it was a nice touch changing the typeface each time, it ties in really nicely with the persona we had given the project - which is fun, youthful, wild and a bit silly.
You can find it on the contacts page at fontvault.com.au
MOTION AD 2
For the second motion graphic, I wanted this to be something more reflective of myself and I wanted it to show a bit about my interests. I love designing posters that link back to my favourite artists/singers or songs and I often post them on my design page so I thought it'd be appropriate to try something like that but for my motion graphic instead.

I've chosen to work on a band called 'Royal Blood' and wanted to start it off with a lighter, I noticed a lighter is commonly seen in their posters and such. I also have been seeing videos of people animating flames and really wanted to try that so the sole focus of this motion graphic was to play around with how I can get the flames to look natural in its environment.
