During my 5th trimester at SAE, I had the opportunity to take on the task of co-lead and was able to work with another peer of mine as lead and co-lead for 13 weeks. I enjoyed my role as co-lead since it enabled me to be able to watch and learn from my lead whilst also having the chance to direct my group as well.
For this project titled 'Font Vault,' our goal was to create a platform where we can showcase our peers' own handmade fonts, allowing visitors to download the fonts for personal and/or commercial use and also allowing our peers to gain traction. This would also act as a good promotional resource for SAE Institute. Our client and our team were hoping that this project would become an opportunity for students to get their names out there and also to become big enough to be on par with other popular sites such as Dafont.com in the long term.

This project had already existed before (from the previous team) so we actually had it handed down to us, while there were things our client wanted to keep (such as colour scheme), he was more than happy for us to make changes to the logo, name and overall style. We actually ended up adding a cream/beige colour to the already existing palette and it definitely changed the vibe. Previously Font Vault was named Font Depository and carried on a much darker/gamer like style. We wanted the attention to be on the students' fonts and not so much on the background so we agreed that we would twist the colours around and approach a more swiss/collage style, with our lighter colours dominating more. We also noticed a lack of photographic elements and have decided that it would make a drastic difference to include it, I believe it made Font Vault appear more human, intimate and balanced.
Asides from overlooking the team's progress and work, I was primarily in charge of socials. One of my teammates and I managed a platform each and I overlook the posts' contents before allowing them to be posted. I managed Instagram and left Facebook for my teammate. The posts on our socials were mostly for showcasing fonts in different styles and environments so our viewers would get an understanding of how the font could be used.
The pieces that I worked on will be available to view below. All pieces have been worked on through Photoshop with some assets made in Illustrator,
Please note that all images used came from Unsplash but have been edited/treated by me. Fonts used also do not belong to me but have been granted permission for use. Fonts are available at fontvault.com.au

Below I've included images of 'filler' posts I made for the Instagram feed.
